Sigma, a 3rd party lens manufacturer from Japan has unveiled availability and pricing details for its new lens, the 60mm F2.8 DN | A. It is a prime lens that’s the part of the Art family, there are a couple of mirror-less mounts available for the lens: The Sony E-mounts and Micro Four Thirds.
The former will have FoV comparable to 90mm lens placed on a 35mm camera and the latter, 120mm lens on a 35mm camera. Sigma hasn’t disclosed the optical formula of the lens, but it appears to have telecentric design.
It also has a linear autofocus motor and inner focusing design that can improve accuracy and reduce drive noise, due to the absence of gearing. The quieter operations should allow better video capture capability.
