Other lens manufacturers find it difficult to make compromises that for from telephoto to wide angle, but Canon seems to do a nice job with the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM. At f/4.0 aperture, the lens can be lighter and more compact.
Image quality is exceptionally good at lower focal lengths and decent at higher focal length. Unfortunately, the lens isn’t fast enough for taking shots of moving objects indoors.
