Panasonic LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7 Aspherical Pancake Lens Review

The Panasonic LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7 Aspherical Pancake Lens is designed as an attachment for the GF1 and it still allows the whole assembly to work as a really compact set. With its pancake design, users won’t mind carrying the camera with the lens attached in the bag and take DSLR-quality photographs quickly.

While the lens doesn’t offer telephoto feature with its f/1.7 aperture, it allows for great narrow depth of field effect, which isn’t possible with typical point and shoots. The internal autofocus mechanism also locks to desired object sufficiently fast. However, fixed at 20mm focal length, users shouldn’t expect to get the flexibility of zoom lens. Nevertheless, the pros still easily outweigh the cons.
